Broadway star Jessica Vosk lights up 国产AV with 'My Golden Age'
The 国产AV Institute for Arts & Culture鈥檚 spring 2024 season commences on Thursday, Feb. 29, when dazzling singer and actress Jessica Vosk brings her spectacular sold-out Carnegie Hall debut show, 鈥淢y Golden Age,鈥 to 国产AV鈥檚 Mary D鈥橝ngelo Performing Arts Center.
Vosk is a celebrated singer and actress known for electrifying roles on musical theatre and concert stages. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in November 2021 in a sold-out solo show titled 鈥淢y Golden Age鈥 and a triumphant return to Carnegie Hall in 2022 to headline 鈥淕et Happy: A Judy Garland Centennial Celebration.鈥 Other recent highlights include debuts at London鈥檚 Cadogan Hall and at Symphony Hall with Celebrity Series of Boston and Washington Performing Arts as part of a 20-city solo concert tour. In summer 2023, she debuted a new show on the Lyrics & Lyricists series at the 92nd Street Y entitled 鈥淐alifornia Dreamin鈥,鈥 featuring the music of the singer-songwriters of Laurel Canyon, and starred as Florence Vassy in a stunning new production of 鈥淐hess鈥 at The Muny in St. Louis.
Best known for her star turn as Elphaba in the musical 鈥淲icked鈥濃攆irst on tour and then joining the show鈥檚 15th anniversary on Broadway鈥擵osk played the green witch for two years and was featured performing 鈥淒efying Gravity鈥 in the PBS Great Performances 50th anniversary concert. Vosk starred as the narrator in Lincoln Center鈥檚 50th anniversary performance of 鈥淛oseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,鈥 reprising the role in 2022 at The Muny in St. Louis. 聽
Other recent theatrical highlights include joining the Atlantic Theater Company as Beth Ann in its production of Sarah Silverman鈥檚 鈥淭he Bedwetter;鈥 creating the role of Aunt Val in the world premiere of 鈥淏ecoming Nancy鈥 at Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell; and becoming the first singer to star onstage with the New York City Ballet in 鈥淪omething to Dance About,鈥 the company鈥檚 tribute to Jerome Robbins directed by Warren Carlyle. Vosk鈥檚 other Broadway credits include Fruma Sarah in the most recent revival of 鈥淔iddler on the Roof,鈥 鈥淔inding Neverland,鈥 and 鈥淭he Bridges of Madison County.鈥
She starred as Anita in San Francisco Symphony鈥檚 Grammy-nominated production of 鈥淲est Side Story鈥 and filmed 鈥淭he Leonard Bernstein Centennial Celebration at Tanglewood鈥 with Michael Tilson Thomas for PBS鈥檚 Great Performances. Her independently produced solo albums 鈥淲ild and Free鈥 (2018) and 鈥淎 Very Coco Christmas鈥 (2020) both debuted on the Billboard and iTunes charts and are available to stream on all platforms. 聽
Vosk had an unconventional journey to Broadway, beginning her career on Wall Street before taking the leap of faith to pursue her dreams on stage. Her one-of-a-kind story has been profiled on ABC鈥檚 20/20 and NBC Nightly News.
